Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on how hungry the termites are. However, we have taken precautions against termites and rotting from moisture, dew, etc. All the runners and floor joists are pressure treated, and are as safe as they can get.

This is a question that only you can really answer.  However, it is helpful to realize that a storage building is typically filled, from the edge of the barn in, three feet (a deep freeze being three feet wide, two bikes side by side three feet wide, furniture three feet wide approx, etc.).  So, if you were to buy a 10'x16' storage building you would have a space of 4'x10' inside the building after it was filled.  It is good to note that a person typically will put more items in his/her building than originally planned.

A Lofted and Mini barn both are built with the traditional barn style.  The difference being the higher walls in a Loft barn (enabling it to have a loft), and almost twice the square footage (size for size).  A Cottage barn has higher walls than a Mini barn, but the roof is at a lesser pitch.  A Cottage barn is more suitable for a workbench or stacking boxes (because of the taller straight walls) than a Mini barn.  Mini barns are often preferred for there traditional and homey look.

Our barns are maintenance free. The metal is resistant against rust, bugs, fading, etc, and carries a 30 year-lifetime warranty.

Nothing!  That's right.  We deliver, set up, and level our buildings for no extra charge (within 50 miles of Perkins, OK, beyond that $2 a loaded mile).

All of our furniture is made from #1 or higher grade southern yellow pine. It’s Genuine Wolmanized® Residential Outdoor® Wood, protected by copper azole preservative and featuring factory-injected water repellant. We receive this lumber while it is still wet from treatment. After slowly drying it for several months in our drying shed, we plane it on all four sides and round the corners. Next, we sort the boards for various parts, with an eye toward best appearance and strong construction. We then cut the boards into parts, router any edges that will be exposed on the finished product, and pre-drill holes for the bolts and screws used in assembling the furniture. Assembly is another process of careful, diligent gluing, fastening, and sanding work to make sure that the furniture we sell is the best available.

To preserve the furniture, we strongly recommend a regular application of water sealer. This helps to control the swelling and shrinking that wood undergoes when it meets rain and sunshine, keeping your furniture both useful and strong.
