What's the difference between a carport and a garage?
A carport has a roof but open sides. A garage is fully enclosed with walls and doors. Carports cost less and may have fewer permit requirements. Garages offer full weather protection and security. We build both.
Can I enclose a carport later?
Yes. Many customers start with a carport and add walls and a door later as their budget allows. We can build it with the framing to support future enclosure. Ask about this option when you get your quote.
Do carports need a concrete pad?
A concrete pad is ideal but not required for all installations. Some carports can be anchored to gravel or directly to the ground with auger anchors. The right foundation depends on your soil, size, and local requirements.
How do carports hold up in high winds?
