What's the difference between a cottage barn and a lofted barn?
The main difference is the roof shape. Cottage barns have a gambrel (curved) roof that gives them a more traditional barn look. Lofted barns have a standard gable roof with a built-in loft. Both offer overhead storage — the cottage barn just has a different profile.
Can I add windows to a cottage barn?
Yes. We offer window packages with single or double windows, and you can choose the placement. Windows add natural light and make the shed more comfortable if you're using it as a workspace. Shutters are available too.
What door options are available?
Standard door options include single or double doors, and we can add a ramp for rolling equipment in and out. Door width and placement can be customized based on what you're storing.
Do I need HOA approval for a cottage barn?
If you live in an HOA-governed community, you'll likely need approval before placing any outbuilding. The cottage barn's traditional look tends to pass HOA review more easily than metal buildings. Check with your HOA for their specific requirements.
