Questions about
chicken coops.
How many chickens can your coops hold?
It depends on the size. Our smaller coops (6×8, 6×10) comfortably hold 8-15 chickens. Larger models handle 20-30 or more. As a rule, plan for about 3-4 square feet per bird inside the coop, plus outdoor run space.
Can I have chickens in my backyard in Oklahoma?
Rules vary by city and county. Many Oklahoma cities allow backyard hens with limits on flock size, and roosters are often restricted. Rural areas typically have fewer restrictions. Check your local ordinances before starting a flock. We've got a blog post on this topic with more details.
Are your coops predator-proof?
We build with predator resistance in mind — solid construction, secure latches, and hardware cloth where ventilation meets the outside. No coop is 100% predator-proof against a determined animal, but ours are built to make it very difficult.
Can I move the coop around my yard?
Yes. Our coops are built on portable frames, so they can be relocated. Smaller coops can be moved by a couple of people. Larger ones may need a vehicle to pull. Moving the coop gives your birds fresh ground and distributes fertilizer across your yard.
